I'm a sailor, if only for a night.

Yes. My first bucket list scratch-off of the summer!

We enjoyed a beautiful day in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The Tall Ships were in port, so we spent much of the afternoon visiting the ships, dreaming about owning one of our own, dreaming about going on the sea for a few weeks.

At 6:30 pm, we set off on a sunset sail. The sun started peeking through the clouds, and we ended up with beautiful skies and a perfect wind for the sails.
Our skipper asked if anyone wanted to help him hoist up the sails! I jumped up! :) It's a lot harder than it looks.

It's an amazing feeling when the wind really catches the sails, so powerful yet so peaceful.

If you're ever in Lunenburg, take the sunset sail - it's worth it ;)

  3. The memory of this beautiful day will surely stay with me for a good while. Thanks for sharing it with me. Because of our summer adventures and talks, which often included mini voyages to some imaginary world, I have have bigger dreams! :)
